Parsel is led by Matt Worthington, a data scientist and analytics consultant based in Austin. For more than a decade he has helped organizations put complicated data to work — solving hard problems, streamlining how things run, and guiding the strategic decisions that move them forward.
His work spans the public, nonprofit, and private sectors — statewide public health and policy, evaluation and reporting for nonprofits and funders, sustainability and ESG analytics, and retail analytics at scale. The common thread is high-stakes decisions that affect real people, and the discipline to get them right.
He started out as a classroom teacher in Austin and Washington, D.C., and holds a Master of Education from George Mason University and a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School at UT Austin. He has also held elected and appointed leadership — as a school board trustee and a City of Austin commissioner — roles where the decisions directly affected people's lives. That mix — education, public service, and data — still shapes how he works: understand what's at stake, respect the people affected, and build solutions that make a meaningful difference.
Parsel brings that experience to every engagement — clear analysis, practical AI, and tools built for the decision in front of you, working directly with the person doing the build.
